Does your facility have a documented emergency preparedness plan? In an emergency such as a natural disaster there should be a documented plan for keeping your building secure. The plan should include who will survey and report building damage and security issues.
Did you know some electric locks actually unlock with the loss of power. Some of these locks are used widely on exterior doors. These locks should have battery back ups in place. If the batteries do exist how old are they and are they fully charged? How long will the batteries last is another concern.
Being able to physically lock your building or certain areas could also be a problem. You should keep at least a few spare locks and possibly some chains and padlocks on site.
The Lock Pros, Inc would be happy to survey your facility and discuss your building security concerns. It pays to be prepared.
Alarm Lock Trilogy
We continue to have great success with this lock. Particulary the DL2700. It has proven to be able to hold up to the constant use at area hospitals and schools. We installed a weatherproof unit in a car wash over three years ago. To date there has not been any problems even during the winter while surronded by water vapors. Other great features is you can over 100 users with the standard lock. Contact Mark at The Lock Pros with any questions.
